Commencement Week is a week long celebration leading up to spring commencement. A series of events will take place June 6-11, 2011 to recognize graduates’ achievements.  All undergraduate, graduate and professional students are encouraged to participate and to invite their family and friends along.

GRADUATING STUDENTS -- ENTER TO WIN EXCLUSIVE TOURS OF CAMPUS!

These EXCLUSIVE tours include an aerial tour of campus by HELICOPTER and a tour of PRESIDENT GEE’S office, all to be held during Commencement Week. To enter, simply submit your contact information below. For more chances to have your name drawn, submit up to 4 different photos of your own Ohio State experience (max of 5 total entries). Selected photos will be featured at the Commencement Eve Candlelight Ceremony to be held on Saturday, June 11. All undergraduate, graduate, and professional students graduating any quarter of the 2010-2011 academic year are eligible to enter. 10 students will be randomly drawn for the helicopter tours, and 3 will be drawn for the tour of Dr. Gee’s office. Submissions can be accepted until Thursday, June 2.

Graduation Cap Decoration Night -  Ohio Union Lower Level, 6-8pm
Cap off your Ohio State experience! Grab your mortar board and some friends and join the Ohio Union Activities Board (OUAB) for a night of fun and decorating. Individualize your cap and stand out in the crowd so your family can spot you. Not graduating?  Join us in making cards for graduates.

Time and Change Tailgate -  Northwest Lawn of the RPAC, following Commencement rehearsal  
Come enjoy food, music, and door prizes immediately following Commencement Rehearsal at the Northwest Lawn of the RPAC. Kick back and relax with the Class of 2011 and the Alumni Association as you celebrate your time at Ohio State with friends and prepare for the change to come!
 
International Student Graduation Reception - Women's Field House, 3:30-5pm
Please register to attend the reception, indicate the number of people coming with you and let us know about any outstanding student accomplishments or leadership achievements you had while at Ohio State.
 
American Indian/Indigenous Student Graduation Celebration - Multicultural Center Gathering Space, 5:30-7pm
This event hosted by the Multicultural Center celebrates all American Indian/Indigenous students who have graduated from summer to spring.  Family and friends are invited to join.  Details are available on the Multicultural Center's website http://mcc.osu.edu.
 
Latino Graduation Celebration - Ohio Union Performance Hall, 6-8pm
The Multicultural Center is hosting this intimate ceremony to recognize the accomplishments of the OSU Latina/o graduates.  Members of their families, university & college faculty, community and student leaders.  Details are available on the Multicultural Center's website http://mcc.osu.edu.

19th Annual African American Farewell Celebration – Archie Griffin Grand Ballroom, Ohio Union, 4pm
The National Pan-Hellenic Council, Frank W. Hale, Jr. Black Cultural Center, the Multicultural Center, and the Ohio Union are proud to sponsor and announce the 19th annual African American Farewell Celebration. This celebration gives Spring or Summer 2011 African American graduates the opportunity to have a personalized graduation ceremony to celebrate and reflect upon their time at Ohio State. Families and friends of each graduate are invited and encouraged to attend both the ceremony and the reception. http://go.osu.edu/aafc
 
7th Annual Commencement Eve Pops Concert - Weigel Hall, 7:30pm
'A Copland Collection' This special concert, on the eve of OSU Spring Commencement, will feature several Copland favorites, including "Fanfare for the Common Man," "Old American Songs," and "Hoe Down" from Rodeo. The Wind Symphony dedicates its performance to all Ohio State graduates and their families.  http://bands.osu.edu  
 
$6 general admission / $4 senior citizens and students with ID. Advance ticket sales available through OSU Theatre Box Office, call 292-2295. Tickets also available at the door (Cash or check only.)

Commencement Eve Candlelight Ceremony  - Main Oval, 9pm
On the night before Commencement, all graduating students are invited to congregate in front of the Thompson Library on the Oval for a very special candlelight ceremony.  Hear from some of your favorite campus celebrities, including a student chosen through an audition process to deliver a Commencement Eve address, and receive your class pin, available exclusively at this event. Share one of the most powerful experiences with your fellow Buckeyes – a candlelight rendition of Carmen Ohio on the Oval, and reflect on your journey at Ohio State. This year's speaker is James Greenebaum.
