Upcoming Programming Funds request deadline

The request deadline for Spring programs taking place between March 26 – June 10 is 11:59pm on Friday, February 3.  Please be sure to submit your request on time, for consideration by CSA Allocations.

Please note the following:

- Information on the funding process is on the funding page of the Student Organization website.
- For a complete list of fundable and non-fundable expenses, check the 2011-2012 CSA guidelines.
- Only the listed treasurer may apply for funding.  If the current treasurer is not listed, the Primary Leader should login to update the roster.
- Treasurers can login at the top right of any student organization webpage to complete a funding request.
- It is advisable that the treasurer complete training prior to filling out the request.  This is not a requirement, but will help ensure the form is filled out correctly.
- The group must be Active in order to audit funds for reimbursement. Requests can be submitted while the group is in pending status.
- Due to the volume of requests, late or incomplete requests cannot be accepted.  Please ensure you leave adequate time to submit your request before the deadline.
- Please be sure your program request has gone through before shutting your internet window.  If an error exists, the form will direct you to where to fix it.
- Requests for Operating Funds are not subject to this deadline.  Operating Funds must be requested prior to April 30, 2012, for the current student organization funding year.
- Please contact Jeff Pelletier at pelletier.12@osu.edu if there are further questions about the funding process.

Student Organizations

Student organizations at The Ohio State University provide students with opportunities to get involved in a wide variety of interest areas. The Ohio State University recognizes the contributions student organizations make to an effective learning environment that prepares our students to live in a multicultural society and to work in a global community. Student organizations serve as a medium for academic discourse, personal growth, leadership development, intercultural understanding, community service, and lasting friendships.

Research on the benefits of student organization membership suggests that involved students tend to perform better academically and are more likely to graduate than their non-involved peers. Students involved in organizations composed of peers learn leadership and interpersonal skills, as well as life skills such as planning, time management, and budgeting. Involved students develop a more robust, supportive network of friends and colleagues that often lasts beyond their college years. The Ohio State University strongly supports a diverse student organization community that contributes to the mission of the University.

A student organization is an association of Ohio State students created for any educational purpose that supports the vision and goals of the University set forth in the Academic Plan and the Diversity Action Plan. There are over 1000 registered student organizations that involve thousands of students.
